Youth Technology Camp Dec 2022 - Robina

Our popular Youth Technology Camps are a 2-day event where students aged 8-16 learn about emerging technologies, investigate and research special STEM topics, participate in engineering design challenges, and more. Students have to use their critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills to participate in various fun

and interactive activities.

This is the perfect opportunity for your child to prepare for future opportunities and become an early adopter of emerging technology and Maker culture!

Day 1 - Maker Lab (Harnessing Electricity to Communicate)

• Microsoft Hacking STEM Project -(Arduino) - Students build an analog and digital telegraph to send coded information with sound and light using a technique created by Samuel Morse in 1844. Students explore the role of electricity in communication and are encouraged to reflect on the impact that this discovery has had on society. The lesson then comes to life by using a custom Excel workbook to visualise and analyse live data from student-built instruments.

Day 2 - Coding Projects

• Game Lab Project: Students code and run their own game using block code , Python or JavaScript (Beginners + Confident students welcome). Game Lab is a programming environment where you can make simple animations and games with objects and characters that interact with each other. Design an animation or game, code with blocks or JavaScript to make it work
