About The Event
Our popular Youth Technology Camp is a 1 day event where students aged 8-14 learn about emerging technologies, investigate and research special STEM topics, participate in engineering design challenges, and more. Students have to use their critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills to participate in various fun
and interactive activities.
This is the perfect opportunity for your child to prepare for future opportunities and become an early adopter of emerging technology and Maker culture!
Morning Session:
Explore the electromagnetic spectrum
- Discover the Spectrum: Students explore how light is composed of different colours, each with its own frequency and wavelength.
- Build a Spectrometer: Students will get hands-on experience constructing a spectrometer to measure different light wavelengths in their environment, including infrared and UV light.
- Research and Discuss: Students will investigate the local UV index and learn about sunscreen's sun protection factor (SPF) levels to understand how we can protect ourselves from UV radiation.
Afternoon Session:
Exploring Space Communications
- Build a Communications Satellite - Play a game to build a satellite that helps send information from other spacecraft to Earth.
